Grace Coolidge, An Autobiography. After Grace Coolidge left Washington in 1929 with the country's love and respect, she began typing her memoirs. The very notion of an American First Lady doing her own typing startles present day readers. But such was Mrs. Coolidge's way. Portions of her autobiography were published in magazines during her lifetime. After her death in 1957, her son, John gave her manuscript to the Forbes Library in Northampton, MA. The complete work is published for the first time. High Plains Publishing. 1993 120 pp. Edited by Lawrence Wikander and Robert Ferrell. NEW
