The bald eagle represents strength. After many attempts by original founding fathers Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson and even John Adams, the job for designing the official seal for our new nation went to an unknown secretary of the congress, Charles Thomson. His design included the bald eagle more prominently and was approved and ratified by the Continental congress in 1782. This ornament features the bald eagle carrying the Stars N' Stripes in its talons as a show of patriotic pride and independence. It's the perfect ornament for your patriotic themed tree!
